I can believe the cards I've been pulling lately.  But they are there for a reason, I know.  This one specifically got me, THE BULLY.  How was I being a bully to others?  But then it dawned on me.  Maybe, I was being a bully to myself. 

Symbolically, we bully our spirits into backing down from challenges, giving into fear ultimately becoming cowards.  How was I doing this in my life?  I made a list of what my inner bully likes to tell me and then switched the narrative.

Here are my stories:

I have so much to do ----------------  We have so much to do.

I have no time for myself ------------ Make the time.

I take care of others----------------take care of self.

Hummm. interesting.

 Halloween. I’m lumpin Halloween into this week. I procrastinated this year, so much of this week was getting and thrifting outfits for Little Red Riding Hood, a wolf, and 'Pam' from the series, “The Office.” 

I’m going as a mom. This is where you laugh.

A lot of emotions- Homecoming, Halloween Carnivals, grieving my mom. A friggin’ roller coaster this week has been.

Got new Merch in the Sober Soaps Store. I’m obsessed with the ‘Teetotally Awesome’ phrase. I made mugs, journals, and shirts with the saying.

Yep, this is the post on Instagram that triggered this week's grief. This is so true. My mom has been gone for 1 yr and 5 months, and sometimes I think she’s on a long vacation, but then I remember she’s not. It’s sucks.

This weeks guidance came in the  form of the Femme-Fatale.  To be honest, I was a little taken aback by this.  The Femme-Fatale is known for it's sexual manipulation. You may know the Femme- Fatale as the 'Black Widow'- taking what she wants from it's partner and then killing him/her once she got what she needed.

But taking out the manipulation, this is a pretty bad-ass archetype.  What you are left with is the power within.- self motivation, going after what you want on your own volitions and desires- depending on yourself to make it happen.  The manipulation is now on your brain, manipulating (or tricking) it to rid your saboteur archetype of any self doubt that it will tell you. 

The Femme Fatale was vital in making my Weekly Intentions manifest.  I was able to observe the Energy of others and watch/ take note of how they manifested their dreams, meeting those dreams with hard work.  Finally, the Femme Fatale encouraged me to constantly ask myself if what I am doing serves what I'm seeking in my life.  If not, the Femme Fatale reminds me that I need to cut it out of my life, like any 'Black Widow' would do!

 Work hard. Play hard. - a short work week for a long play week. Funny how much I got done. I definitely tuned into this past weeks archetype Femme Fatale- in the light. I went for what I wanted depending on me (not a male, as this card is about.) seizing the day, assessing the situation and acting accordingly. Maybe a little grief arose, creating a sense of urgency.

Mid week we headed down to Los Angles to celebrate the eldest 15th bday, more specifically to see Victoria Canal perform. Mind you, the eldest possesses magic when it comes to performers, as she has sung with Michael Franti, met Grace Vaanderwal, Victoria in 2019, is always the person that catching the guitar pick or drumstick, or gets the set list. I don’t think this is luck or a coincidence, it happens EVERYTIME we go to a concert… At this point, it’s a sign from the universe that she is made to sing… (more on that later.) So without further ado,  here is my proof of life for this week.

Hello Week 42-  I'm feeling some good energy this week.  I've got the 'go out there and get it' type vibe. Maybe it's because we are going to LA to celebrate the eldest 15th bday (we gave her tickets to a Victoria Canal concert), so I feel I have to get everything done...So I'm going to go with it.

Not to many pictures this week, but a lot of celebration and a "being in the moment" type week. Many high's- the eldest turning 15, Singing and Drama performances.  A couple of low's - The youngest sick for two days, the longing of my mom.

Enjoyed the Art Slam at St. Paul Lutheran in Oakland.  I got to letter print using a press.

This past week seemed to barrel by. It definitely picked up steam. By Wednesday, I honestly didn’t know what was going on. All I can say is… weddings, birthdays and lantern  festivals. All of which were celebrations, but those that have lost a loved one know, those celebrations hold a bit of sorrow for those that aren’t physically present. So, there were tears. Tears of joy and longing.

 Let’s get on to this week.

A beautiful end to the week. We spent October 9- the evening of the full moon at a Lantern Festival. It was a beautiful way to honor loved ones and set intention in a collective way. 

Week 40 was about creation and recharging. 

 

 

Last September, I had the opportunity to see the Frida Kahlo Exhibit at the De Young Museum in San Francisco.  If you ever have the opportunity to go, I highly recommend it. 

 I've studied her work and career off and on throughout my life.  But seeing her work and collection in real life left a huge impact on my soul.  Especially her collection of Votive offerings that her and Rivera Diego collected. 

Votive Offerings  (ex-votos) are basically a thank you note to the divine.  The concept of a votive offering has been around for thousands of years. The earliest reference dates back to the 5th century BC, an offering to Apollo at Delphi. Hernan Cortez, the conquistador of Mexico, had an elaborate offering created to give thanks for his survival from the bite of a scorpion using gems. 

So, this mouth, I have been making my own....
